The children and participants of Nature Storytime continue to learn about nature and science in fun weekly events. Recently we learned about about chemical reactions. We experimented with baking soda and vinegar, making an “erupting” volcano. Next, we will be making a more realistic ‘volcano’ with play dough in the weeks to come! We also spent some time taking a short hike to look at the blue heron rookery, where we saw the birds busy building their nests. Coming up, we will be learning the basics about magnets and compasses, and then we will go outside to hike with a handheld compass as our guide.
